A Well Oiled Machine at Prairie View
Ok let me paint the picture when you first get to the event at Prairie View where Minister Farrakhan was speaking. There is a line around the front of the building, nothing but women. So we come to the line UHN and I, we ask "What's going on?" The young women proceed to tell us this is the women only line. We say "Wow, Where are the men?" A young lady says'"The men have their own line and can't stand in line with us and they are already inside." So us being UHN, we want to investigate. Now the thoughts that go through your mind in this divided line is, when we get in will we still be divide, will we be separated from the people we came with, our boyfriends, homeboy, or classmate once inside? Well we go to the front of the line and the sisters are handling their business. The women are like the military. They don't won't to hear your story, stand in line and wait your turn! I was amazed at the order! They pushed you back and had total control of the situation! So I squeeze
in with a group of ladies. They have the medal detectors at the front door. As soon as you get in the first question they ask "Do you have any weapons on you?" You already walk through the detector, maybe there could be something it missed. They have each woman stand in front of a woman and she goes through your purse aggressive like, unzipping, shuffling, etc. Then they pat you down from head to toe! So after such a thorough search, one would think they were done! Nope, the next sister has to go through your purse and catch whatever the first sister missed.I had an out of body experience, I was smiling so much. They were about protecting this man, by any means necessary! They were strong, confident and in control! I loved it! We could not take pictures, this was something the world needed to see in my mind. See people think the women are quiet in the Muslim faith, they are just as important as the men and had work to do for the cause. They controlled the seating and the order in the building, while the men watched the crowd for any danger. Every 30 to 40 minutes they switched out watch detail. The person was tapped and the next soldier would move up for protection detail. That way no one got tired. It was a well oiled machine! The men and women stood tall! They had many poets and singers in the building giving motivational talks and songs. It was an inspirational event, I was happy and grateful to have been a part of. I will talk later about the message the Minister had to say on another day.
Hi, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your article! I appreciate the way you portrayed the brothers and sisters who sacrifce so much to stand with Minister Farrakhan wherever he goes to protect him and his family.
I wish I could have been there. I am looking forward to viewing it and I am looking forward to reading your post on what the Minister had to say.
May Allah (God) continue to bless you in all of your endeavors of good.
Peace & Blessings,
