Empowerment

First I want to thank Kim from Snap Sistaz for having me at the event! I was a vendor there with my novels and my coffee. There were many vendors in the house, all home based business women! Entrepreneurial women, that alone would make you snap! A fellow blogger was in the house Ms.Vernetta of "Women Are Game Changers". Feel free to check out her blog as well. The conference started out slow because of the time change. In the meantime of the attendees and guest speakers showing up, it gave us time to mingle and fellowship. It's a small world, most of us be it speaker, guest, or vendor was informed about the event through sharing. Someone knew someone who could add to the Empowerment of Women. It was not just a black or white thing it was a strong woman theme! The Author of Chemical Suicide Toni Hickman was a speaker. Toni shared her life and story about how she came about writing her book. The cutest thing that brought attention to her was the fact that she was wearing her book on her ears. How creative was that? Her book, her advertisement was on display as her earrings. Toni shared on how deodorant, toothpaste, shampoos and etc, are killing our black women. Mainly because of lack of knowledge. She goes into detail in her book. Cee Cee Michaela Ford, the woman from the show "Girlfriends" was warm and inviting, and full of laughs. She too was a vendor, as well as a speaker at the event. Her story is amazing also. I am always moved when people speak because you can see and feel where their passion lies. Cee Cee talked about being a habitual dater as a woman, that is all you do is date. You have to break the cycle of being a woman who dates men, or you are always just a girlfriend. She too is in the health and wellness business and is informed about the items in soaps, deodorant, and food. She shared with us about not eating anything white! No white bread, rice, sugar, etc. And Soy milk! Wow, the only person drinking soy milk should be menopausal women because it has a large supply of estrogen in it. If you give it to your son or man they will have female characteristics because of the estrogen. So ladies don't give your boys soy milk. Try rice milk instead. Mary Watkins, the woman who referred me, was a singer at the event. Mary had read my book "Lying for a Living" and thought of me. She sings gospel and performed at the event. After these ladies shared, it made one want to snap and say you go sistah! Thank you Mary Watkins for the information, enjoyed your spirit. Images from this event will be on my facebook page.
